Maximize your effort

High-IntensityInternval Training

HIIT is a type of exercise that alternates between short periods of intense exercise and brief recovery periods.  It’s about pushing through your comfort zone. What makes it different from other fitness pursuits is that it should really tax you to the point of exhaustion. Your heart rate is changing. To get more specific, HIIT intervals should be at about 85 to 95 percent of your max heart rate.

Why High-Intensity Interval Training?

HIIT can help you decrease body fat, increase strength and endurance, and improve overall health , but it is not necessarily better than other exercise modalities. Its main appeal is that it can achieve similar fitness and health benefits in a shorter duration, and that it includes periods of rest. HIIT is an effective exercise option to increase endurance and strength in those who have limited time to exercise. Because of the higher intensity format, it is advised to consult with a physician if you have any medical conditions before starting a HIIT program.

Stating The Facts

Research shows that HIIT programs provide many of the same benefits as longer exercise routines – but in a shorter period, making it an attractive option when you're pressed for time. HIIT workouts also burn more calories after your workout than moderate-intensity exercises
